modelling application and types of processing

Modelling Application and Types of processing

Modelling application
A simulation is the creation of a model of a real system in order to study the behavior of the system.
To try and find out what mechanisms control how a system behaves and consequently predict the behavior of the system in the future and also see if it is possible to influence this future behavior.

Tuck shop model
This example uses a spreadsheet to do the modelling.
It shows the principal of using spreadsheets to carry out any type of modeling that can be represented in a mathematical form.
you can use excel or spreadsheet
Traffic Light Simulation
To demonstrate a more complex simulation, the following scenario has been chosen: a set of traffic lights is to be modeled at a Y-junction
In this simulation it is necessary to consider:
G how and what data needs to be collected
G how the simulation is carried out

G how the system would work in real life.
it can
1 calculate the average to know how much the car that got in
2 calculate the time of when there is so man car and fewer car so that when there is kind like traffic jam it can calculate the time for the car to go and to stop RED and GREEN

Driver simulation
driving simulators use for training and testing for drivers ed, police, motorcycle, CDL, fleet and rehabilitation.

Carrying Out The Simulation

Data from the above list is entered into the computer and the simulation run. The results of the simulation are compared with actual traffic flow from a number of data sets.
it will
G vary the timing of the lights and see how the traffic flow is affected
G build up the number of vehicles stopped at part of the junction and then change
the timing of the lights to see how the traffic flow is affected
G increase or decrease traffic flow in all directions
G how emergency vehicles affect traffic flow at different times of the day.

Why Simulation Are Used
Because it cheaper than the real thing
Because there is the real thing that dangerous
Because the real thing have the higher risk
Simulation is faster than the real thing
But sometimes we need more expensive software to be used

Types Of Processing

-Batch processing   -real time (transaction) or online processing
   -real time process control

Batch processing

Batch processing, a number of tasks (jobs) are all collected together over a set period of time. The jobs are then loaded into a computer system (known as a job queue) and processed all at once (in a batch).

Real Time (transaction) Or Online Processing
Real-time (transaction) processing is an example of online processing. When booking seats on a flight or at the theatre, for example, this type of online processing is required. The response to a query needs to be very fast in order to prevent ‘double booking’ and seats need to be marked as ‘unavailable’ immediately the booking is confirmed.

Real Time Process Control
Real time process control is usually found in system that use computer control, its use when it completely essential that the input request with quickly enough and to be able to control the output properly
